Dance:
In The New York schools of Alwin Nikolais and Murray Louis, Merce Cunningham, Martha Graham, The Dance Theatre of Harlem and the Miriam Johnson School of Javanese Dance. He later choreographed for his own companies in New York City, Seattle, Washington and Vancouver, British Columbia. Presently, Co Director- Choreographer of The Academy of Ancient Dance and Theatre under the direction of Eugene Gold.

Theatre:
Yerek Bogayevis from the Polish Theatre Lab, The New York Open Theatre, The Clause Kipnis Mime Company, The American Mime Company, Green Thumb Players, North American Bunraku Puppet Theatre and co director of Theatre Absolute, Northern California.

Mr. Macfarlane went on to produce visual art in the late 1970.s and today his art can be found in museums, galleries and private collections throughout the United States, Canada, Western Europe, Mexico and Russia. Presently he has shows touring in Spain, Russia and parts of the U.S. and Canada.
